Oregon Eclipse Gathering☾✩
It has been nearly over a week since I experienced a solar eclipse in its totality, at the most amazing place in the world, Oregonl Eclipse Gathering.
I found out about the total eclipse sometime last summer and knowing my passion and connection to the cosmos I knew I had to watch it somewhere especial.
I attended Symbiosis Gathering last year and found out about their Global Eclipse Gathering, from that second I knew I had to attend. Not only because it was going to be somewhere where totality was visible but also because I knew I had to experience it with people on a similar wave length as mine like at Symbiosis.
Throughout this lifetime, I have attended over 30 festivals, but since Symbiosis Gathering transformational festivals have topped my list leaving my expectations of any sort of gathering very high. I knew Oregon Eclipse would be just as transformative and amazing as Symbiosis…or more, especially with magical collaboration of the talented humans that created some of the most magical and transformative festivals around the world. Symbiosis (California), Lightning in a Bottle (California), Envision (Costa Rica), Hadra (France), Origin (South Africa), Noisily (UK), Ometeotl (Mexico), Rainbow Serpent (Australia), RE:BIRTH (Japan), Sonic Bloom (Colorado), Bass Coast (Canada), Science and Non Duality (California), Beloved (Oregon), and Universo Parallelo (Brazil).
Here’s my attempt to put into words the most ethereal experience I have ever lived. Surrounded by 30,000 souls from all over the world converged in a sacred piece of land, to share their values, magic, and remind the attendees of our connection with the cosmos, stars, earth, and the elements.
a community from heaven
The community at these transformational festivals is one of the core reasons that keep me coming back and craving more and more of that kind of human interaction.
This gathering showed me how amazing it can be when 30,000 conscious humans get together, put their cellphones down and make real connections through cosmic conversations, learning, giving, dancing, loving and comforting one another.
This time around it was so many international communities holding a sacred space together. A community where everyone was accepted, no matter your background, age or size. Their energy was transcendental, and I feel very blessed to have met so many inspiring souls, dreamers, wizards, cosmic light workers, rainbow artists, and loving magical beings.
Kidzbiosis Dream Village
This magical village hosted the most fun workshops, fireside drum circles, gyspsy walkabouts, rainbow circus training, family yoga and a lot more! Kids running around, chasing bubbles, playing with rocks, drawing with tribal markers. The energy there was so calming yet adventurous and energetic. If you are a kid or a kid at heart like me this was your little heaven, every age was welcomed.
1Nation Earth Camp
A camp dedicated to indigenous people from all over the world with the mission to unite all humanity to preserve and protect Mother Earth, life and the sacred elements. They hosted prayers, ceremonies and teachings on environmental injustice so that we can take action and help protect our mama earth and her resources. Not only for us but for our future generations. They also spread awareness on the aftermath of Standing Rock and the Lakoda People’s Law Project and reminded us that the issue is still there and there are ways we can help. Our earth is all we have and I have so much admiration and gratitude for Oregon Eclipse because they really focused on teaching us different ways to help preserve it.
Whether it was by getting a massage at the Wellness Oasis, watching 4d projections of paintings by Alex Gray at the Mova, getting healed by the Envision Village Witches with the art of herbalism and essential oils, taking a deep bass Yoga class with live music, attending a ceremony at the Shrines to The Cosmos, or relaxing at the Sun or Lotus Temple. This community really brought together a place for us to play like children, learn about the world but most importantly ourselves, gain symbiotic relationships and grow.
Some expressed themselves through art installations, some by wearing the most creative ensembles, some by teaching their art, some by performing their art and some by glitzing magical fairies and unicorns that inhabited the prarie for those 7 days.
The art installations were outstanding to say the least, some were recreational and fun, while some were extremely inspiring and mind blowing. My favorite art installations were The Cosmic Messenger, The passage of awakening, The Flying Mountain Trash Totems, The Fuego Arbori and a lot more haha.
Fashion was another huge form of self expression, I loved seeing different kinds of festival style through out the week and also the evolution of that expression that took place. The days following the eclipse were filled with outstanding looking creatures stomping through the dusty fields.
Glitter came hand in hand with style, and the ones that took the lead were my magical fairy friends from BioGlitz. A biodegradable and plant based glitter brand founded by Saba Gray. I met this beaming ray of sunshine a few years ago at an event in NYC. Of course the first thing she did was glitz me. Fast forward 3 years and she founded BioGlitz, the softest and most pigmented glitter out there(you guys know I know my glitter and trust me when I say her stuff is the best). She now lives in LA and is spreading her magical and sustainable brand. I am so happy that these events help me reconnect or interact with like-minded people that inspire me to be a better me, a community of creatives that push each other up not tear each other down.
A especial thanks to my Bioglitz fam for all the laughs, champagne, and for always keeping me shinning responsibly❤
music Heals: heal thyself
Pre arrival to Oregon I did not have high expectations for the music, since I only knew a few of the people playing. But this did not lower my excitement one bit as I have learned that at these transformational gatherings the experience goes beyond the music alone.
The main musicians I wanted to see were Bassnectar, everyone from the Desert Hearts crew, Dirty Bird crew, Damien Lazarus, and more house and techno hehe.
It took us nearly 12 hours to get in so the first day I did not get to go into the festival grounds until night time.
Some of the stages and temples were still being built, so I wandered around and tried to get to know the grounds a bit. There was music anywhere I went, but the first place I checked out was The Silk Road stage which focuses on live instrumentals and artists from all over the globe, that place was surreal to say the least. Then there was The Big Top which hosted live music and acrobatic performances.
The five main stages were inspired by nature starting with Sky stage which had my favorite Techno and House Djs. Sun stage, which held down Psy-Trance. Moon stage, where you would find yourself getting down to the filthiest bass. Earth stage was a feminine component to the masculine Sun stage, and Eclipse Stage which brought together some of the most amazing past performers of Symbiosis Gathering. Then there were small stages all around, like at The Beach, Fringe Theater, Furtherr, and more.
As the days went by I kept finding myself going back to the Sky stage, each night the bumping and great tunes had me dancing my little feet in the dust until sunrise. I also loved the Moon and the Eclipse stage.
There were so many talented musicians my ears were happy and beyond satisfied every single night. One of my favorite nights was Saturday night for the Deserts Hearts take over. I saw them live for the first-time last year at the Swimbiosis stage at Symbiosis, and since then I have been chasing them around the country like a little groupie haha. I just love them so much! This night resonates so much because I was dancing non-stop all night! After the dessert hearts take over and still in awed, I wandered my way to the Eclipse stage to what was probably the most incredible and mind-blowing Bassnectar set of my entire life(I have seen him probably 30 times). After that and trying to put the pieces of my brain back together I was lured back into the Sky stage by the hypnotizing sounds of a 4 hour set that Justin Martin played, that man never disappoints but I feel like he out did himself this time. And after all that dancing and head bumping I sat on tapestry with my friends in the back to listen and dance to the sunrise set of Lee Foss.
A night I will never forget for sure. Every night had so much magic I wish I could talk about every single set I saw but there are some things that can’t be fully described or written just felt.
The other two amazing nights that resonate a lot were the night before and after the eclipse. I discovered so many new artists those two nights, it is safe to safe my playlists are full of new music and my ears will be happy for a while!
When The Moon Fell In Love With The Sun
The morning of the eclipse, me, my boyfriend and best friend decided to take a power nap after a magical sunrise set and right before the eclipse started around 9am. We had planned to meet our friends around that time so we could all head to the viewing area together, but time and inner compasses were different that morning so we weren’t able to find them.
Walking by the water towards the viewing area we ran into a shiny reptile looking boat on the shore. I have a strong connection with bodies of water and since we were a little upset after not being able to find our tribe, I realized that being in the middle of the lake would cheer us up and put us at ease once again.
We hopped on the boat and made our way to the middle of the lake. Right before totality we pulled up to a floating dock, which was actually a tea house, and watched the sun, the moon and the earth aligned. Surrounded by kind, loving and compassionate humans that would share their treats, wisdom and magic with us and made us feel at home.
Totality was something I could have never prepared myself for without actually being present during the alignment of the matriarch and patriarch of our celestial rulers. During totality, my heart was overflowed with various emotions, but I tried to surrender and honor the energy. Everything was tingling, I felt extremely happy yet melancholic at the same time, overwhelmed but also calmed. As in all my dreams had finally manifested.
The bright lit landscape instantly darkened by the shadow of the moon, the temperature dropped about 20 degrees, it got windy, birds were flying all over in confusion. 30,000 people howling as the sun disappeared behind the moon in an instant, forming the darkest disk that was surrounded by the most angelic light. Planets and stars were visible, and Venus appeared bright in the sky next to the sun.
A few minutes later I felt so much lighter, a shift of frequencies and healing energy ran through my body, as though I had finally let go of energy that was holding me back. I experienced a sense of expansion and was remembered to live each moment fully present. My connection to the earth, elements, human kind and personal growth grew stronger than ever.
This day marked the beginning of all beginnings. I now know more than ever that anything and everything is possible in this dream called reality, and I commence this by committing to my own growth without fear.
After being on the magical Tea House Boat for a few hours we wandered our way to take in the mind blowing experience on land and find some shelter from the sun. We pulled our shiny reptile looking boat on the closest shore and found the Furtherr, a shady, fluffy and whimsical outdoor art studio that hosted live painters. The layout was very Alice in Wonderland tea party like, and had soft nests, and cozy little areas with pillows aka perfect nap spots if you were looking to escape the music and overall festival madness for a bit.
This was a very special place for me to find right after the eclipse as painting has been one of my passions since I was little. Witnessing these amazingly talented artists in action put my mind at ease after such a beautiful yet transcendental and overwhelming experience that the eclipse was.
After I discovered this comforting place I went back every day. Relaxing and cuddling on the little nests while listening to some tunes and watching magic happen. A true gem.
